Working primarily through the paper-cutting technique and layered surfaces, my paintings merge contemporary form with visual languages rooted in my African heritage. My works often unfold in series: the Afro series reflects experiences of femininity and identity; the Ankara series echoes the rhythms and patterns of African textile design; the Gele series honors the cultural significance of the headwrap; and my abstract works examine the textures of everyday life and lived experience.
